The VoxBox blog
We have a new blog about any music that takes our fancy or find interesting.
VoxBox online
Stockbridge is situated just to the north of Edinburgh's West End bordering the New Town. From Princes Street it is a straight ten minute walk downhill via Frederick Street. The start of St Stephen Street is marked by the grand steps of St Stephen's Church.
Stockbridge is certainly worth a visit if you are ever in Edinburgh. It is not quite on the tourist map but is a fantastic shopping destination away from most of the usual High Street chains. Great for finding presents, it is full of kooky independent shops, cafes and restaurants. And if you need to scratch that itch for good tunes and rare vinyl, there's us too.
Info
VoxBox Music became the newest record shop in the world on May 21st 2011. We buy and sell vinyl and other formats of music. We are independent and sell mostly pre-owned records although we are slowly branching into new vinyl too.
Based in Edinburgh's Stockbridge, we try to uphold it's tradition of quirky independent shops. We are proud to be one of the newest record stores in the world. Our newest additions include vinyl releases by Scottish artists on local independent labels. Our stock caters to most tastes and all budgets. The shop is owned and run by Darren.
Side A: The front shop

We pride ourselves on the quality of our vinyl. The front shop has a wide selection of LPs, the majority being in Excellent condition or better. You are not likely to need to upgrade any of your valuable records if you buy them from us. Our sections include British and American Blues, Jazz, Rock, Folk/Folk-Rock, Reggae, Punk, New Wave and Indie. We have most collectible genres other than techno. We also have some new and used CDs and a selection of collectible 78rpm discs and 45rpm singles.
Side B: Back room vinyl

Our back room is a treasure trove of bargain records. Around 1000 LPs and 1500 singles, all priced at a wallet friendly £1.50. There is a small selection of Classical LPs/Box Sets, 12" singles and music books, and sometimes some memorabilia. Our rubbish filters are set high so you will not be looking through lots of pipe bands and easy listening to find some great music in The Backroom. We keep a vintage 1960s Dansette record player with lovely tone which you can try any records on before you buy.
